TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: Children learn through play. Learning occurs when the child is an active participant and thinker; experimenting and exploring in a secure environment. The teacher provides access to developmentally appropriate materials and activities to meet the unique needs of the child. The scope of learning is extended by identifying what motivates the child. The goal is to help the child grow emotionally, cognitively, socially, and physically and become a confident life long learner.

KATHRYN GAGNON'S INFO

CLASSROOM TEACHER: I attended Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts, graduating with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in special education. Having been a paraprofessional during my last year and a half of college within a special education preschool program I knew that I wanted to continue teaching preschool in a public school setting. After graduating in 2014, I began my teaching career on Cape Cod as a special education preschool teacher. In the summer of 2020 I moved to New Hampshire to fulfill a lifelong dream of living and teaching here. TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: First and foremost, children must feel safe, secure, and confident within an environment to be able to learn. By creating a caring environment in my classroom in which all children feel seen and heard they are able to learn. I believe the best way for a preschooler to learn is through play. I will provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, create and imagine.
